MGI Career Fair >History in the making every year
For over twenty-two years the colleges and universities in the city of New Orleans have joined forces to plan and host the premier recruiting event in the city. The decision was made early on to plan this event to coincide with the most unique event in the world, Mardi Gras. Although Carnival in New Orleans spans more than a month, the Mardi Gras Invitational (MGI) is held at a time to make it easy for employers to get in and out of the city and students and alumni to partake in the event.
Participating Colleges and Universities
The planning committee for the Mardi Gras Invitational is comprised of staff from colleges and universities in the New Orleans metro area. They include:
Dillard University
Loyola University of New Orleans
Our Lady of Holy Cross College
Southern University at New Orleans
Tulane University
A. B. Freeman School of Business - Tulane University
University of New Orleans
Xavier University of Louisiana
Each of the above colleges and universities plan the event and market the activities to current students seeking internships, graduating seniors and recent alumni seeking full-time opportunities. In years past, the attendance has been well over 1,300 job seekers during the career fair.
